Abstract
Effective communication is a fundamental component of high-quality health-care delivery and patient safety. As health-care systems become increasingly complex, the integration of multidisciplinary teamwork with digital communication technologies has emerged as a critical strategy for improving clinical outcomes. Communication failures remain a leading cause of medical errors and adverse events globally. This review examines current trends in team communication and digital communication in health-care settings and analyzes their role in enhancing quality care and patient safety. The review highlights structured communication tools, digital platforms, accreditation standards, benefits, challenges, and future directions. Evidence from national and international literature demonstrates that the integration of team-based and digital communication significantly improves patient safety, clinical efficiency, patient satisfaction, and organizational performance. Strengthening communication competencies and leveraging digital innovations are essential for achieving excellence in modern health-care systems.
