Background: Induction of labour is an important obstetric intervention used when continuation of pregnancy poses a risk to the mother or fetus. Nursing students should possess adequate knowledge of its indications, methods and complications to ensure safe maternity care. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of a structured teaching programme (STP) on knowledge regarding induction of labour among final-year B.Sc. nursing students. Methods: A pre-experimental one-group pre-test/post-test design was used among 60 final-year B.Sc. nursing students at selected by purposive sampling from two nursing colleges in Tumkur. Data were collected using a self-structured questionnaire consisting of 44 multiple-choice questions on induction of labour. After the pre-test, participants received a structured teaching programme. A post-test using the same questionnaire was conducted after seven days. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Majority of participants were aged 21–23 years (93.3%), female (90%), and Christian (75%). The mean pre-test knowledge score was 20.22 ± 2.23 (45.9%) and the mean post-test score was 30.33 ± 3.35 (68.9%). The mean percentage improvement was 22.98%, with a highly significant difference between pre- and post-test scores (t = 16.92, p < 0.001). Conclusion: The structured teaching programme was highly effective in improving students’ knowledge regarding induction of labour. Continuous educational interventions are recommended to strengthen evidence-based obstetric practice among nursing students.
