Effectiveness of Competency-Based Education in Improving Clinical Skills
Main Article Content
Abstract
Competency-Based Education (CBE) has gained global acceptance as an outcome-driven approach that emphasizes clinical competence, measurable skills, and learner-centered methodologies. Unlike traditional hour-based systems, CBE ensures students achieve proficiency before progression. This article examines the effectiveness of CBE in improving clinical skills among nursing students. Evidence suggests that CBE enhances psychomotor skills, clinical reasoning, confidence, and readiness for patient care. Integrating CBE in nursing curricula significantly contributes to quality education, safety, and patient-centered care.
