Introduction: Child development is a crucial change of material possessions; nurturing children is most operative means to mature a nation's human resources. The general standard of living, educational levels, and fiscal resources of a nation significantly influence its child welfare standards. Method: To assess the efficacy of a structured teaching program on specific child welfare programs among mothers of children under five in a particular rural area of Bangalore, a pre-experimental before and after test was developed. A non-probability convenient sampling strategy was used to choose thirty mothers. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the data. Results: Of the thirty mothers who took the pre-test, twenty-two (73.3%) showed inadequate knowledge, eight (26.7%) showed somewhat adequate knowledge, and none showed adequate understanding of child welfare programs. Twenty women (68.3%) had adequate knowledge, ten (31.7%) had somewhat adequate knowledge, and none had deficient knowledge, according to post-intervention data. With a paired t-test value of 31.68 at a 0.05 level of significance, the increase in knowledge was statistically significant. Conclusion: According to the study's findings, nurses are crucial in educating moms of children under five and raising awareness of the value of child welfare initiatives. Maternal knowledge is effectively increased by structured training programs, which can lead to positive outcomes for child welfare.
