The Commerce of Cognition: Integrating Total Quality Management (TQM) in Neurological Nursing to Optimize Clinical and Fiscal Outcomes
Main Article Content
Abstract
As the global burden of neurological disorders increases, the management of neuroscience units requires a sophisticated synthesis of high-acuity nursing and strategic commercial oversight. This article explores the application of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Resource-Based View (RBV) frameworks within neurological nursing departments. By treating nursing expertise as a rare and inimitable strategic asset, healthcare organizations can achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. This study analyzes the economic impact of specialized neuro-nursing on "Failure Costs" associated with stroke recovery and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) management. Through a multi-center operational audit, the research identifies that TQM-driven nursing protocols reduce post-operative complications by 22% and shorten the "Order-to-Rehabilitation" cycle. The findings suggest that a management-integrated approach to neurological care is essential for maintaining the commercial viability of neuroscience centers of excellence in an era of value-based reimbursement.
