The present investigation explored Knowledge proficiency related to vitamin A deficiency disorder among mothers of under-five children attending Muppainad PHC and Meppadi FHC. The objectives of the study were to assess the pre-test knowledge regarding vitamin A deficiency, to evaluate the post-test knowledge, and to identify the association between knowledge levels and selected demographic variables. The study was undertaken among mothers of children under five years of age at Muppainad PHC and Meppadi FHC. A sample of 30 mothers was selected through a convenient sampling. The research adopted a quantitative approach. The instruments used included a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings of the study indicate that the planned teaching programme significantly enhanced the mothers’ knowledge regarding the prevention of vitamin A deficiency. The p-value of .000 (<0.01) shows a statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test knowledge scores. There was a significant association between the demographic variable of religion and knowledge regarding vitamin A deficiency disorder, while no significant association was found with the other demographic variables.
